In the last year the interest in properties in the rural countryside (and more specifically – in rural houses and villas) increased considerably. One of the main reasons for that is the fact that property buyers in Bulgaria are rediscovering the villages and the small towns which have good infrastructure and transportation to the regional cities. The tranquility and remoteness from the city hustle and bustle, the good access, the beautiful nature and the low prices attract more and more rural property buyers.

BULGARIAN PROPERTIES’ 2009 market analysis shows that properties in villages and around the big cities also felt the global crunch as their prices also fell. It was rural properties that felt this decrease the most as their prices fell by 53% in a year.

To buy a house in the rural countryside, especially one close to a big town, is a sensible investment regardless whether the property will be used during holidays, for permanent living or for business purposes.
